Modeling Supervisor

Supervises a team of 12-14 modelers. Leads all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the modeling team on their show, ensuring that their own, as well as their teams characters, environments, vehicles, props and shot corrective sculpts are crafted according to the designs and visual style as well as the technical needs of the project.
Working under the direction of the VFX Supervisor, the Model Supervisor is responsible for establishing the preferred look of the models and partnering with other department supervisors to ensure the models move through the pipeline successfully.
Develops new workflows to better serve the team and show. Writes Documentation for artists to follow and ensures all technical standards are met.
Trains all new hires ensuing that the follow all the studio's Modeling conventions.
Lead 3D modeler

Leads a team of 12-14 modelers. Responsible for leading some meetings and quality checking teams work. Helping artists grow in their skills and teaching studio workflow.
General problem solving for team.
Occasionally introduce helpful python/mel scripts into the pipeline or fix/upgrade existing ones.
Responsible for inter-department communications ensuring a smooth workflow and providing clean quality work to shading/rigging.

Know the episode’s story and understand the technical/artistic requirements so as to lead/coach artists on the team.
Give direction and technical guidance to the modeling team to maintain the required standard of work for the show.
Establish show esthetics and work flows to ensure artistic coherence.
Be the team leader on the floor, assist, guide and delegate work if need be.
Lead team to assure the work meets a high-quality standard and is delivered on time.
Follow up on tasks and the advancement of the team’s work with regards to deliverables.
Assist the Modeling Supervisor in creating department or discipline specific workflow documents that can be shared with other artists or production staff.
Be a mentor to new hires and Jr staff; show them technical/artistic aspects for the show/tools.
